All for the Kids

When life is plain mad
And I'm dragged into sad
It surely it wont help
If I punish myself
Put the dishes away
Go get on with day
Coz there's kids to be fed
Clothed and tucked into bed
Keep them clean, keep them calm
Keep them processing school
All the fights in the playground
In the class, losing cool
If I'm broken a-wreck
How to keep them in check
Man I cant let them hate
All I stand for at work
I'm a pastor, a carer
Try to rep for my Maker
Though my heart is fragile
And though people confuse us
And our minds they abuse us
God's the only one stable
And as far as I'm able
I'll fight so they know
There is no place like home

Tides

What goes up, must come down
What goes around, comes right back round
A tide that turns
A transposed song
An open door
Once kept locked
When seasons change
When timing is right
When mountains move
When the rhythm is tight
When there's victory
Over our plight
That's right
We feel the end in sight
And day lifts out of night

The Prodigal

You watched me walk away
Just let me go
I said I had my reasons
I let you know

I wanna find my answers
I want what life can give to me
I wanna find myself and
Decide who I am gonna be

You saw me running wildly
You watched me fall
You saw me fill my pockets
Then lose it all

I wanna find my answers
I want what life can give to me
I wanna find myself and
Decide who I am gonna be

They say that I don’t need you
I have it all
I know what’s left without You
So in your arms I fall

In you I find the answer
I know who I am meant to be
In you I find the reason
Come and walk this road with me

Torn

Torn between two worlds
You've kept me here
Not standing still
But drawing near
To hear Your voice assure me
I am not alone
By You I'm known
Walking on the line
Between their hearts I find
One way I'm bent too much
The other fine
I need Your touch
To feel there's purpose
In the tension
I could stop
But did I mention
I can't fall
You've held me up
And all I know
Is there's a reason
For this flow
This sidwards motion
Pulling both ways
Such commotion
I will hold on tight
And not look down
Just straight ahead
The end in mind
Your purpose mine
Your reason true
And all I need is You

Memories

It's been a long road
And I'm looking back in time
These walls are filled with memories
Of a different kind of life
Times I carried burdens
Lying face to the ground

Where are they now
Where are they now

Pages of the albums turning
faces smiling back
Regrets from moments I have lost
Walking down that track
Times I wasted conversations
Answers never found

Where are they now
Where are they now

In Your hands
Lifted high
They can spread their wings and fly
In Your hands
They'll be fine
You're the Author of their lives
They are Yours
Not mine
This time

They are Yours rpt 3
We are Yours rpt 3

In Your hands
Lifted high
We can spread our wings and fly
In Your hands
We'll be fine
You're the Author of our lives
We are Yours
We are Yours
All the time

He Wont Stop Yet

It’s difficult to say
Why working each day
Without any pay
Can chip away
At your self esteem
No matter where you’ve been
Or what you’ve seen
It’s tough, it seems
To hold your head high
Keep your eyes to the sky
And know that the time
Was worth your while
And that someone out there
Not quite sure where
Will rise from their chair
Approach you and share
That it’s all been a test
Not simply in jest
But a moulding, a quest
To bring out your best
So that one day you’ll find
Your perception was blind
And your life left behind
Is no ordinary kind
But one that was spent
On the lives that were sent
One by one, every friend
Those who came and then went
And though no-one quite knows
What’s your job I suppose
And your role’s been unclear
From each year to year
But there’s One who’s smiling from ear to ear
It’s He that has wiped every unseen tear
And His Words then return
And again you discern
That it’s not what you earn
Which defines where you’ll turn
But listen in close
To your soul’s Divine Host
And He’ll tell you the most
Precious plan that He chose
For your pathway ahead
No need to dread
It’s He that has led
And He wont stop yet

As Worlds Collide

I’m trying to decide
How will I cope as worlds collide
When things have changed deep down inside
And what remains I cannot hide

I want to change this world
I want to see it’s gifts unfurled
These paths before me have uncurled
Yet so much so, it’s all a swirl

What’s first, what’s last, what’s in-between
O how to plan this new routine
A journey through an epic scene
Not some bespoke machine

I want to hear, to see, to know
Without it being just a show
I always want to learn and grow
And push through every blow

So I will look, and there I'll find
Each cloud out there that's silver-lined
And all these dreams within my mind
Will gradually unwind

When things have changed deep down inside
And what remains I cannot hide
I'll see the beauty far and wide
And I will fly as worlds collide
