Tonight I mourned for people I never knew
A deep pain inside, as though I were there too
But so far removed here,
Consumed with minute fear,
While real flesh and bone
Battle death, and worse, Alone
All solutions seem futile
No avenues worthwhile
But as I sit and weep
These burdens I won’t keep
Instead I will cling
To my God, my King
My Saviour who died for my sin
Watch in awe as I’m changed within
Introduce my world to Him
Pass on the peace, the transforming Grace
Know His Presence as the ultimate place
And believe the dark spaces
Filled with yearning faces
Will be consumed by Him
Light and life returned to win
Forgiveness over hatred
Clothed over naked
Beauty over ashes
Love over lashes
