His Name is Jesus

There's a love that compels us
A drive that indwells us
To be more to this world
Than logic can tell us
And the One who was nailed here
In purity dwelt near
Immersed but untainted
By all that is grey here
The pull of the darkness
Though strong to the masses
Instead gave Him room
To bring beauty from ashes
His power transforms us
His love, it restores us
The answer to all?
Well, His name is Jesus

My God's Own Treasure

There's a love that compels us
A drive that indwells us
To be more to this world
Than our own flesh would tell us
For the One who was nailed here
Himself spent his life here
But never was tainted
By all that is grey here
His power over death, sin
And all that it's taunts bring
Was so great it reaches
Beyond those entrenched in
A power that transforms
The basest of life forms
To beauty beyond measure
My God's own treasure
