I didn’t know you from the start
I made you fight for my heart
But you were always strong and steady
And your open arms were ready
For my tender soul to let you play your part

To protect and provide
Strengthen and Inspire
It’s from you that I learnt how to give
Just like you, Dad,
That’s how I want to live

We didn’t always get along
The stubbornness in me was strong
But your response when we fought
Was the greatest lesson that you taught
Humility would resonate it’s song
