Gotta pass it on
Gotta pass the life along
We’ve come too far
To stay standing where we are
Gotta pass it on
Gotta make the nations strong
Let them stand upon
The shoulders of the ones
Of those who’ve gone before

Looking back on days gone past
Hearing stories wide and vast
Revivals stopping once they start
Lessons learnt kept in the heart
If only those with faith so strong
Had learnt of passing all along
We wouldn’t still be sitting on
A heritage of faith gone wrong

Looking up at times ahead
Setting our sons in good stead
They’ve got futures worth being read
Of valiant lives they’ve lead
A life passed on is what it takes
They need not make the same mistakes
A generations strength it makes
And a dying world it wakes
